Unitarian Universalism for Children Kindergarten to Grade 2

Theme and Description Through this curriculum, 5 to 7 year olds become acquainted with their own Unitarian Universalist community--the people, buildings, rituals, and celebrations and the basic tenets of Unitarian Universalism.

Size of Group 6 to 12
Space Requirements
An average-sized room, with floor space for circle time and tables for crafts. Occasionally, outdoor space is also needed.
Number of Sessions 32
Length of Sessions 75 to 90 minutes
Leader Training Two leaders strongly recommended. The curriculum is self-explanatory; training desirable but not necessary.
Leader Preparation 1 to 2 hours per session

Some activities are appropriate for older children, intergenerational gatherings, and youth or adult worship services.
Unitarian Universalist Values Includes Unitarian Universalist customs and rituals, such as the Dedication Service, Flower Communion, and Chalice Lighting. Implicitly affirms the inherent worth and dignity of every person as well as respect for diversity.
