Theme and Description Creativity is unleashed, as participants discover they are part of the creative forces in the world. Seven major themes include Religion & Creativity; Religion & Creative Arts; Arts & Creativity; Creativity & Self; Practical Creativity; Universal Creative Force; Creativity for All. Basic ideas are repeated throughout the curriculum for deeper understanding.
Goals for Participants
Age Range Middle school (10 years and older); adult supplement available
Size of Group 5 to 15
Space Requirements Participants need "a space to call their own" that they can decorate. Storage facilities are needed. A room with a sink and washable floor is recommended, as projects can be messy.
Number of Sessions 37
Length of Sessions 1 to 1 1/2 hours
Leader Training The belief that every human being has creative potential is essential, but expertise in fine arts or other creative areas is not necessary. Co-leadership is recommended, and leaders are encouraged to invite guest artists to class. Careful reading of introduction and lesson plans is important.

Unitarian Universalist Values Stresses the importance of supporting and affirming each other's creative abilities and efforts, as well as recognizing one's own abilities and connection to the creative power of the universe. Leaders can emphasize each session's connection to religious thinking, especially the Unitarian Universalist Principles and Purposes.
