What we liked about the curriculum:
The craft activities aren't too difficult, either for the kids or for a crafting-impaired teacher like me! The suggested books are readily available at the library.
What we didn't like about the curriculum:
The suggested music has been dificult to locate, if you aren't willing to buy it. Many of the suggested books in the My World section are non-fiction. My class really does better with books that have a storyline in them. I have relied on librarian recommendations a lot for picture books with the appropriate theme.
What we liked about the curriculum:
I liked much of the subject matter of the curriculum. It had
interesting ideas. This is however a test message.
What we didn't like about the curriculum:
Too advanced for pre-school children. wish there had been
more information which would make this useable by 3-4 year
olds.
What we liked about the curriculum:
There are some very good lessons in this curriculum such as linking how everyone got here - land bridge, Mayflower, slave ships, Ellis Island experience, airplanes.
What we didn't like about the curriculum:
I had to revise and compact much of the material to fit the reality of available resources.
Recommendations for other users:
Expect to use the lessons as a starting point for how you can present the ideas. Compact the series into fewer lessons saving the best and most realistic for your situation.
